WLAN Watchdog – Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important. This document explains how WLAN Watchdog (“the App”) handles information.
1. Data Collection
- The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data outside of your device.
- Network scans are performed locally on your own WLAN.
- Device information (IP address, hostname, custom name, tags, and online/offline status) is stored only in a local database on your phone.
- No information is ever shared with the developer or any third party.
2. Data Usage
- Device information is used solely to display your network devices within the App.
- If notifications are enabled, the App uses locally stored information to alert you when a device appears on your network.
- All processing happens locally and never leaves your device.
3. Permissions
The App may request the following Android permissions only when required for functionality:
- Access Network/Wi-Fi State – to detect your current network.
- Internet – required to perform local device discovery.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) – only if you enable notifications.
- Nearby Wi-Fi Devices (if required by Android version) – used strictly for WLAN scanning.
The App does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or storage.
4. User Control
- All information remains on your device.
- You can remove all locally stored information by uninstalling the App.
- No cloud storage, analytics, or third-party integrations are used.
5. Children’s Use
The App is not specifically targeted at children. As no personal data is collected, there is no additional risk for underage users.
6. Updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect technical or legal changes. Updates will always be published here.
